We are settling in to being at home. I'm still REALLY tired but slowly catching up on rest. It is amazing how easy it is to just focus on you and let the whole world go spinning by. Nothing else matters but you and your happiness right now. I stare at you all the time in total amazement that WE MADE YOU!! You're awesome baby.
Here are some fun things that happened this week:
- Things we have discovered that you like: eating, snuggling with Daddy, singing and rocking with Mommy, Daddy making funny faces and blowing on your belly
- Things that you don't like: being gassy, being naked (usually), being on your belly
- I had my first check up with Dr. J postpartum. Dad took half a day off work and took us. All checked out really well for me ~ bp is down, I'm really happy not being pregnant anymore, almost all the baby weight has melted away, a little achy - but nothing usual. All of the nurses and receptionists went gaga over you of course!
- We went to the grocery store with you for the first time - had to buy diapers!
- I talked with an old friend Courtney for several hours on the phone. She is going to have a baby in January, so she has lots of questions about how things are going for us.
- On Thursday night your Pops football team played their biggest rival - Borah! I am certain he'll tell you the story of the Gurkha's one day. I took you down to the game to just show you off a little bit, but we ended up staying through half time because we were invited to sit up in the press box. The announcer also came over the speaker before the game and said to the entire crowd, "We have a special guest down on the field tonight - Please welcome Miss Katie Jane Gordon - Coach Gordon's first baby!" It was so cool!
- Sara came over Friday afternoon and Mommy LEFT YOU ALONE with someone for the first time since coming home........they give free massages at the hospital and we bailed so quickly that I wasn't able to get mine - so I cashed it in this week. It was glorious. Sorry I left you - but apparently you and Sara had a stupendous time together.
- Your Grammy and Grandpa Gordon came to visit on Friday evening. They love you sooooo much!
- Daddy really likes chilling with you:
- So does Booger :)
- On Saturday we took you to your first Boise State Tailgate!!! It was so much fun! The weather was gorgeous. Daddy stayed for the game and I took you home - but boy oh boy everyone loved seeing you. They all marveled at how well I was doing also. :) Tough as nails baby.
- On Sunday we had a little photo shoot with Micah - it was a lot of fun posing with you - we got some great pics.....here's a taste.....you're so pretty!!!
- Hanging out with your Dad while he grade lab reports. :)
- We had your first 'real deal' Doc appointment, and your Dad came to that also. What a great Daddy! We met Dr. Archibald for the first time - we LOVE him - and are happy to have him as your primary doctor. Again, everything checked out very well with you - your weight has climbed up to 7 lbs 8 oz!!! (milk piggy - hahaha)
- To wrap up your second week of life on this planet we had a little visit from your Aunt Katie and her daughter Kaiya - they are totally in love with you too.
- What a great life you are already living!
